Food & Beverage Captain Location: Chandigarh Department: Food & Beverage / Service Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and guest-focused Food & Beverage Captain to join our restaurant team. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of restaurant service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead a team while delivering a consistently high standard of guest experience. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the service team during daily operations. Ensure smooth and efficient service from welcoming guests to billing and farewell. Take orders accurately and have strong knowledge of the food and beverage menu. Explain dishes, ingredients, preparation methods, and recommendations to guests. Coordinate closely with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely service. Maintain high standards of service, hygiene, grooming, and restaurant presentation. Handle guest requests, complaints, and special occasions professionally. Train and guide junior service staff on service standards and restaurant procedures. Monitor table sections and ensure all guests are attended to promptly. Check food presentation and service quality before dishes reach the guest whenever required. Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily opening and closing procedures. Ensure correct billing, POS procedures, and cash-handling practices. Support upselling of food, beverages, specials, and premium offerings. Maintain proper communication between the floor, kitchen, bar, and management. Help maintain a positive, disciplined, and professional working environment. Requirements 2–5 years of experience in restaurant/hospitality service. Previous experience as a Captain, Senior Steward, or similar role preferred. Strong knowledge of food and beverage service. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good knowledge of restaurant etiquette and guest handling. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership and team-management abilities. Well-groomed, punctual, and professional personality. Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. What We’re Looking For Someone who is confident on the floor, genuinely passionate about hospitality, attentive to detail, and capable of creating memorable guest experiences—not simply someone who takes orders.
